What is Ditch Stress all about?
How it all started
For us, this all really came about at a dentist office, sitting in the chair, being told a mouthguard was necessary. We’ve watched enough CSI to know that when the TV medical examiner stares at a victim and pronounces: “He grinds his teeth, must have a very stressful job, like a banker or lawyer” that bruxism is linked to stress. Asking the dentist: “What can I do to fix this issue?” “”Nothing” replies the dentist, “just wear the mouthguard”.
Now we aren’t the type to just sit back and do nothing, and it had become very evident that stress was clearly getting the upper hand and having some negative consequences. When we learned that researchers estimate that stress contributes to as many as 80% of all major illnesses, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, endocrine and metabolic disease, we knew that stress management was something to take seriously.
We found there wasn’t any place to go to find comprehensive information on stress and how to feel less of it in your life. We wanted to create that place for people.
Our Mission
So began an obsession with learning all we could about stress, and the most effective ways to find calm and thrive. This will always be a learning journey, but we thought hey, we should share all this cool stuff we are learning! We aim to provide you with solid information and practical tips on living well with stress.
